Slat an Mhairnéalaigh Irish Language Orion's Belt Print | Gaeilge Constellation Wall Art | Vintage Star Map | Irish Gift | Gaeilge Art

from €25.00
Slat an Mhairnéalaigh, "the sailor's rod"

An old Irish name for Orion's Belt, recorded from Mayo. Folk names for the stars are slowly being forgotten, and I think they deserve a place on the wall.

This vintage-style star map shows the constellation of Orion in white on a deep navy sky, with the Irish name and a little line underneath:

Na trí rí-réalta, le feiceáil sa spéir ó dheas oícheanta geimhridh.
(The three great stars, seen in the southern sky on winter nights.)

Uimh. 1 in a new series of Irish star names, with more to come.

Printed on heavyweight 200gsm matte paper with a smooth, non-reflective surface.

• 200gsm (80lb) premium paper
• 0.26mm thickness
• FSC-certified sustainable paper
• Soft matte texture

Frame not included. A4 size
